My interest in art is anchored in my childhood in Japan.  Tradition has long been cherished in Japan, and I draw on qualities such as beauty, delicacy and sensitivity as well as traditional techniques in my painting.  My work uses Japanese paperboard and pigments called GANSAI, combining an image with calligraphy in Japanese.

Selected shows include solo exhibitions at Kingston YNCA in 1986 and at 'Japan 2001' in Donnington Grove, Newbury, and I have exhibited in several group exhibitions and galleries across London.  I work also in oil, watercolour and pastel and have been exhibiting with the Epsom and Ewell Art Group since 1987, painting in those mediums on varied subjects while integrating a Japanese approach with a Western visual language.
